Spending my first Christmas in a new house- with renovations still in progress– had high and low points. You have a completely blank three-dimensional canvas to work with, incorporating classic items that carry the weight of memories and tradition, with opportunity to add new, fresh touches. Though I have a ways to go, here are some of my first attempts that worked out and will probably make a return on holidays Christmas future. -A
A touch of green and gold here… 
These trees were made by double folding the pages of some books I got at the local antique co-op. Tree tops were then placed in candle stick holders also from the co-op and bows added.

Found just the right color poinsettia to complement last year’s after Christmas purchase from TJMaxx… 
New this year- a second Christmas tree, dedicated to displaying our travel souvenirs!

The bow back on the chair didn’t allow these to hang in the middle like I wanted…probably try something else next year…
